Honored Hero

Our 2019 Students of the Year Honored Hero is 14-year-old Charlie Levine. At just 10 years old, Charlie was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Prior to his diagnosis, he was a healthy child who was rarely sick. He was bright, sweet, charming and definitely a ‘glass half full’ type of kid. He loved sports, especially baseball and was a star on his local little league team and traveled the country playing with his club team.

Since November 2015, Charlie has been fighting hard and showing amazing courage. His chemotherapy regimen has been grueling and very hard on him, but Charlie’s ability to seize the moments when he feels well inspires all of us.

  Dakota

   Diagnosis: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (2017)

Dakota was diagnosed with ALL on Easter Sunday, 2017, at only 3 years old. She remains her sassy and spunky       self throughout her diagnosis and is an inspiration to everyone she meets. She loves her doggy, dancing and           singing along to music, and visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom with her family.
