Honored Hero - Jane & Claire

On October 9, 2015 Jane woke up with a lump on her neck that continued to grow throughout the day. Later, an x-ray showed that she had a mass and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She was rushed to the Cleveland Clinic where she immediately started chemo. Despite a relapse. fertility treatment, radiation and a stem cell transplant, Jane has been in remission since December 2016. Jane has realized that even though she is young, cancer has made her stronger and wiser. She can conquer anything the world throws at her.

During November 2018, Claire was having recurring fevers ranging from 100-103 degrees and constantly getting dizzy everytime she stood. Being unable to make an appointment with her primary care doctor, Claire and her family went to the ER for blood work. It was there that they found her red blood cell count was extremely low and her white blood cell count was incredibly high. She was immediately transferred to the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and admitted to the PICU for 5 days after finding out she was diagnosed with Philadelphia Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since then, she has had many impatient stays at the hospital for chemo treatments, steroids and neutropenic fevers. All of which took away her muscle, to the point where walking became extremely difficult. However, Claire is in the maintenance phase, has gone back to school and had her port removed! Claire has been in remission since March 2018!
